Promoting Your Self.

Lately, I've noticed how vain it can appear when you see artists spreading word about their new album, website, or whatever.
Lets be honest here. Some musicians are going to be big-headed about what they do and some are not. I think, however, that it's easy to drift into that mindset. Many artists make a living at what they do, and it's necessary for them to be promoted so others will know about them. Musicians are artists, we create what has not yet been created (some do create what's already out there, but that's not the point I'm trying to make). Lyrics are like poetry, they have meaning; music supports it and brings it to life. Music alone, speaks for its self as well. God, the most creative, made us creative people. I think there's nothing wrong with being proud of what you've created. I've written tons of songs and I truly enjoy playing them on my guitar or the piano. Sometimes I see it as, "Why not share?",why would you keep all your creations to yourself? Let others enjoy them too.
No one knows a man's heart; only God knows.
So next time you see some one outside playing guitar, or singing at an open mic night, just see it as they enjoy what they do, and they want to share.
